'Departing' started as a therapeutic experiment to help me deal with anxiety and depression. Over the past couple of years I have neglected making music. I was having terrible writers block and wasn't feeling inspired. As a task to promote creativity I set a goal, for myself, to improvise and record one song a week (even if the song was short and simple). Needless to say, I didn't keep up with the weekly task but continued on nonetheless. No proper mixing or editing has been done. I wanted them to feel exactly what I felt when making them. I didn't intend to release any of these songs but thought it would be a waste not to. As I was listening back I felt a narrative in the songs connecting them as a larger cosmic tale. A tale for passing time...
